1. Objective:

The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) is formed to address and resolve issues faced by students, faculty, and staff within the institute in a fair and transparent manner.

2. Scope:

This policy applies to all stakeholders of JNCT, including students, faculty, and administrative staff.

3. Types of Grievances Addressed:
  • Academic-related grievances (exam issues, evaluation discrepancies, curriculum concerns)
  • Infrastructure-related grievances (facilities, hostel, transport, safety)
  • Behavioral grievances (misconduct, harassment, discrimination)
  • Administrative grievances (admission process, fee-related concerns)
  • Placement and career-related grievances
4. Grievance Redressal Process:
Step 1: Submission of Grievance
  • The aggrieved party can submit their grievance in written form .
  • A complaint box is placed in the campus for anonymous grievances.
Step 2: Review and Acknowledgment
  • The Grievance Redressal Committee acknowledges the receipt of the grievance within 48 hours.
  • The committee classifies the grievance as academic, administrative, or behavioral and assigns it to the appropriate subcommittee for review.
Step 3: Investigation & Hearing
  • The committee conducts an internal review, interviews involved parties, and gathers relevant evidence.
  • If necessary, a confidential hearing is conducted with the complainant.
Step 4: Resolution & Action
  • Based on the findings, the committee proposes corrective actions within 7 working days.
  • The resolution is communicated to the complainant in written form.
Step 5: Appeal Process
  • If the complainant is dissatisfied with the resolution, they can appeal to the Principal for reconsideration.
  • The final decision is provided within 10 working days.
5. Confidentiality & Protection:
  1. All grievances are handled with strict confidentiality.
  2. No student, faculty, or staff member shall face any retaliation for filing a grievance.

The Grievances Redressal Committee plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all students, staff, and faculty members have access to a fair and transparent platform to address their grievances. The committee is committed to resolving issues promptly and efficiently, creating a healthy and harmonious environment within the institution. It encourages individuals to voice their concerns, whether they are related to academic matters, campus facilities, or interpersonal relationships.

The committee functions on the principle of providing justice and fairness to all, ensuring that each grievance is handled with sensitivity and professionalism. It undertakes investigations, listens to the parties involved, and provides solutions that adhere to the institution’s values and policies. The committee works closely with various departments and external bodies when necessary to ensure comprehensive resolution and maintain the well-being of everyone within the institution.

Committee Objectives:

  • Grievance Submission: Ensuring all members of the institution can submit grievances without fear of retaliation. The committee provides multiple avenues for submission, including online portals, emails, and in-person hearings.
  • Prompt Resolution: Committing to a quick and fair resolution of grievances, striving to resolve issues within a set timeframe to avoid prolonged distress.
  • Investigation and Evaluation: Thoroughly investigating grievances by listening to all parties involved and gathering necessary evidence. This impartial investigation ensures fair and unbiased decisions.
  • Awareness and Education: Promoting awareness about grievance redressal mechanisms and educating the community on how to handle and prevent conflicts effectively.
  • Confidentiality and Security: Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved in the grievance process, especially when sensitive matters are raised.
